Bibliographic Citation: Title: Nothing But The Truth Author: AVI Publisher: Scholastic Inc, Publication Date: 1991 ISBN: 9780545174152
Summary:
Nothing But the Truth by AVI is about a ninth grader named Philip. He has the dream of running track, but there is only one problem. His English grade is not high enough, and the coach says he can not even try out because of this. This makes Philip very upset, so he blames it all on his teacher, Miss Narwin. In his head, he thinks she has it in for him. He has her for homeroom. It is a rule that every morning when the "The Star-Spangled Banner" is played, students are to stand in respectful silence. Philip thinks he can get back at Miss Narwin and get moved out of her class by not being silent and respectful, but he does not realize by making that choice his life will be turned upside down.
Here is a cyber-hunt on the author AVI which will require students to use the internet and different websites to gain information about the author.
Phrasr allows you to type in a word or phrase and choose pictures to match the phrase. I chose a phrase from the book that really stood out to me and made the story about what it was about.
Photopeach gives you the opportunity to create a slide show with pictures, words, and music. I created a slideshow of the basic storyline and events that took place in the book.
Penzu is an online journal. It allows you to write your thoughts and save it. You can upload photos and personalize it. I wrote an online journal entry on from the main character's point of view and what I thought he was really thinking.
